On 1st October, the night of the Annual Meeting and Installation, the Lodge unusually carried out a 2nd degree ceremony in the presence of W Bro Major N D Clothier MBE TD, PAGDC, the Provincial Representative. This was because the member who was passed to that degree has problems getting away from work to be at the Lodge and 1st October was one of the few dates he could be with us.
Then W Bro John Heron proclaimed W Bro Major A J P Watson TD PProv AGChap Master for the ensuing year, following which the new Officers for 2014/2015 were then appointed and invested.
28 Brethren then enjoyed the Festive Board, dining on Salmon & Dill Fishcakes; Fillet if Beef en croute and Tia Maria Chocolate Mousse.
A number of brethren again intend to visit St Patricks Lodge in Richmond on the day of their Installation, 1st November. Subsequently on 5th November Reserve Forces Lodge will receive visitors from former members of our closed daughter Lodge, Defendit, who will see us using their tools in the month of remembrance. We will also see fraternal visitors from Guisborough that night, so it will be busy!
Finally on 13 November the WM and Secretary are to make a Fraternal Visit to the Victoria Rifles Lodge no 822, meeting in Duke Street London. This was the Lodge formed by members of the Queen Victoria Rifles, one of the oldest reserve force units in the country.
