History in Reserve Forces Lodge

Reserve Forces Lodge of Northumbria No. 2666 has a history of son following father, as happens in military families with a son often joining the same Regiment with which his father served. At its March meeting the Lodge was delighted to initiate a Lewis with his father present, the first for a number of years.

The candidate was Lt. Alex Wady (centre in the photograph below), with his father W Bro. Major George Wady TD, ProvGSuptWks (on his right), and the Worshipful Master, W Bro. Major Alasdair Watson TD, PProvAGChap (to the candidate’s left).

Lt. Wady is a graduate of Durham University and Sandhurst Military Academy and is currently serving with 16 Medical Regiment, a part of 16 Air Assault Brigade in Colchester. The poignancy of the occasion was enhanced by the candidate’s father delivering the obligation.

Reserve Forces is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and is currently having a very successful spate of candidates, with ten new members initiated in the last five years.
